Kid friendly Hilton Head South Carolina offers plenty of activities and recreational experiences for the entire family to enjoy.
In fact, Hilton Head is considered one of the most kid-friendly areas in South Carolina. While not every child will like all of the activities on the island, the eclectic mix provides a little something for nearly every type of family.
The top kid friendly Hilton Head hot spot is called Adventure Cove. This facility was recently rebuilt and upgraded with a new building, arcade, food counters and a centerpiece miniature golf course.
Adventure Cove boasts a Subway Sandwich shop & a pretty cool ice Cream shop Adventure Cove is also a popular place for kids to celebrate birthdays and family get-togethers.
The sports enthusiast will enjoy the kid-friendly golf program at the International Junior Golf Academy (IJGA). It first opened on Hilton Head in 1995, and has grown to be very popular & is recognized around the world.
The IJGA offers monthly and weekly boarding camps from mid-June through mid-August for ages 12 and up.
Golf is not the only activity kids can enjoy on Hilton Head. There are tennis programs available for children of various ages at the Sea Pines Racquet Club. Children as young as four can enjoy these tennis programs.
For kids that are 4-6 the program is called Tiny Tots, while kids age 7-8 can partake in the program Big Shots. There is also a Junior Instructional Program for children of various ages.
This program teaches children all about sportsmanship and provides technical instruction for every level of child tennis player.
Not every child likes sports or competing against other children. That is why there are other recreational activities on Hilton Head. From the ocean side pools, to the beaches surrounding the island, children and their parents can enjoy swimming, water sports, boating, fishing, and relaxation on the beach.
Hilton Head offers some of the most beautiful beaches on the Atlantic coast. Swimming is optional on the beach, because there is so much to do and see. This includes building sand castles, collecting shells, and playing (burying themselves) in the sand.
Sea lovers will enjoy taking a fishing charter or boat out into the sea. Little anglers will love the wide variety of fish they can catch, and some charters allow for crabbing instead. Of course, a boat trip provides the opportunity to relax and enjoy nature, so even those children who do not like fishing can benefit from a sea charter.
Landlubbers can explore the many kid-friendly attractions Hilton Head has to offer. In Harbour Town alone, children will enjoy visiting the Lighthouse, Liberty Oaks Tree, and the Gregg Russell Harbour Town Playground.
