Hilton Head Area Movie Theaters
Sea Turtle Cinemas
843-706-2888
The best of the local movie theater scene. This brand new multiplex is located in Berkley Place at Buckwalter Parkway in Bluffton. The theater is well worth the 20 minute drive down Hwy. 278 from Hilton Head Island. We easily proclaim it to be the best movie theater within a 100 mile radius!
Northridge Cinema 10
843-342-3800
Located at Northridge Plaza on the north-end of Hilton Head, this theater is a popular mini-multiplex that shows the latest films. It's not the largest or newest facility but people of all ages keep this place busy. Be aware that on Friday & Saturday nights you'll find "rowdy" younger crowds.
Coligny Theater
843-686-3500
Located at Coligny Plaza on the island's south-end, this is an old-fashioned (and a bit dated) movie spot that shows films you may not find in the other first-run multiplexes. This single-screen theater has some charm and it's run by true movie fans.
Park Plaza Cinemas
no website
843-785-5001
Located at the Park Plaza Shopping Center near the Sea Pines main gate, this smaller multiplex shows first-run flicks. It's an older place, but there's a safe vibe in this higher-end shopping & dining area.
Drive-Ins ... They Still Exist?
Of course there are other theaters in the next towns over, namely Beaufort and Savannah, but traveling that far is simply not a necessity since 90% of the time you'll find the movie you'd like to see right in our local area ... unless you want to have a classic drive-in movie experience, then check out:
Highway 21 Drive In
843-846-4500 (movie line) or 843-846-4021 (office)
This throwback-to-another-era provides affordable family entertainment right out of your vehicle. It's one of only two in the entire state of South Carolina. If this sounds appealing make sure to visit this last of a dying breed multi-screened movie venue.
